Last week, the gals (and guy) of the MarketPlace Junior Board held our second summer fundraiser. We had spent many weeks working together gathering merchandise, advertising the event and finding the perfect location. Flatwater restaurant was the venue we landed on. It was beautiful, overlooking the Chicago River at the heart of the Loop. We had both indoor and outdoor spaces, where our guests mingled, checked out MarketPlace merchandise, and bid on silent auction items. We thought it might be a good opportunity to capture a few photos for MarketPlace Style.
Pushpika, the MarketPlace Founder and President, worked the room all night and chatted with guests about her experience bringing a dream to reality. Here she is pictured with Junior Board members Supreet, Rajya, me and Sucheta — We all decided to wear MarketPlace scarves for the night. Junior Board members not pictured are Tessa and Jonathan.
We can’t do a Style post without an appearance from Tessa (who you already know and love!) She was ravishing in a bright purple scarf, which you can find at http://www.marketplaceindia.com, paired with a pair of beaded earrings and a hot pink top like only she can pull off.
We uncovered a few gems from our warehouse: a beautiful sky blue transparent scarf and several colorful bohemian bags. Never miss a MarketPlace warehouse sale, because you’ll never know what rareties you’ll discover!
One of the more popular items on our silent auction table was this wooden Indonesian vase from Nadeau. I had my eye on this piece all night and wanted to bid on it myself, but ended up going for the Lemlem Lucy Beach Wrap donated by TwentyThirtyForty.net, and can’t wait to take it to the beach. Other donors to the silent auction included p+L, Courvoisier, Allyu Spa and XEX Hair Gallery. Many thanks for the contributions!
