On a recent weekend, the staff and Board of MarketPlace: Handwork of India got together for an all day retreat to learn about the organization and begin identifying ways to make MarketPlace even better. Many of the board members were surprised to learn just how much goes on behind the scenes.

Each block of these fabric swatches are assigned a unique code. This is how our designer identifies patterns in conversations with the cooperatives in India. One of the many things we learned at the retreat!

MarketPlace has been working with artisans for 30 years! The opportunity to collect, document, and share our past experience and knowledge was immense. We want to especially thank our facilitators, Carol Wetmore and Llenay Ferretti for helping us grow the work of MarketPlace: Handwork of India! We also want to thank our Board of Directors for donating their expertise and helping to lead our organization!
