In January, we posted some photos of a recent art exhibit from the artist Laura Kina. Laura designed a series of art pieces made of indigo-dyed cloth. The series depicts scenes from Chicago’s Devon Avenue, long known as a hub for Jewish, Indian, and Pakistani cultures.
Laura commission artisans from MarketPlace: Handwork of India to create the embroidery on each of these art pieces. MarketPlace and Laura Kina’s exhibit has been covered by the Economic Times here!
To see the beautiful pieces in the exhibit, or learn more about the exhibition, see our blog post in January. The artisans were happy to attend the gallery opening!
